I was born in Edmonton, AB and lived there for 17 years. Even from a very young age certain things have been consistent in my life, such as my artistic ability, athletic drive, and restrained social proliferation.
That last one isn't so great, I've discovered. This site is a little bit of an effort to share myself, after having slammed the door so many times before. With age maturity has come, so that I can appreciate people and their circumstances better. At the same time, standards and expectations have not and will never be lowered. Rather, patience and diplomatic skills will improve. That way, everyone benefits.
I'm 22, and live with my family in suburbia. I started my own business 'Intensity Marketing' about 2 years ago. Up until now, my time (during business hours) has been spent self-teaching myself skills in website design & development, drawing, and how to use Macromedia Suite and Photoshop in general.
My jobs include creative development, copywriting, and low level development. My brother Allan does most of the technical development and all of the code / techy stuff. My Dad is the mastermind behind the operation. He was the one that steered us in this direction, and boy am I glad for that!
His role in my (our) company covers many departments. Human resources, customer service, R&D, and B2B relations. He's the one that runs into all the cool people (and sometimes not so cool people) that we end up doing business with.
That's the state of business right now. On to other things.
I have 2 areas of major interest, which are fitness and outdoor adventure. The two sometimes blend together, and I learn new ways to make my muscles sore. Up until very recently, my exercise system for the past 2 years had consisted 100% of bodyweight exercises, which I learned from Matt Furey's Combat Conditioning. The information is excellent. It completely changed my physique, flexibility, and overall "springiness".
I still use his material, and recently augmented it with some weight work. This is because I have found that I need to add greater resistance to develop the power I've been lacking. When it came to quickness and nimbleness I was fine, but the need for some weight behind the speed is starting to show.
My time spent in the world of outdoor adventures and nature enthusiasm has been very exciting and equally rewarding. It is a great relief to cast off the weight of the big city life I have been raised in, and get some green back into me. My family isn't too sure why this city kid likes running around in the bush, and they won't understand until they see, taste, and feel what's out there.
Believe me, its goooood.
